Mahima Ponmalar teaches science at Panchayat Union Middle School in Chennai, a government school with about 240 students, as she describes in her interview. She and a colleague joined WiselyWise's two-day virtual faculty programme without knowing what to expect.
She says it gave them confidence and new digital skills, including voice assistants and tools for making science videos. About 24 of her students then completed the free AI course and earned certificates, and she shared recorded classes with the 17 schools in her block.
She won the Tamil Nadu government's Dr. Radhakrishnan Best Teacher Award for her online teaching during school closures, and credits WiselyWise training with the confidence and digital skills she used.
Our CEO visited the school to see the programme in practice. The school gave a warm welcome and invited the Block Educational Officer. Students presented what they had learned, alongside their teachers.
It is the kind of check we build into a programme: see the classroom, hear the teachers and let the students show their work.
Our two-day virtual Faculty Enablement Programme brought school teachers from different parts of Tamil Nadu together to bring AI concepts and voice-assistant skills into their lessons. With Naan Mudhalvan, Government of Tamil Nadu, we delivered a five-day Faculty Development Programme on digital marketing.
College faculty such as Prof. Aparna Devi of Aiman College for Women, Trichy, have shared their experience of working with us.
Tamil teachers in Tamil Nadu and beyond ask the same question: how can AI help with lesson plans, worksheets and quizzes without losing the language? Our training answers it with a simple rule: AI drafts, the teacher decides, and the Tamil stays in the teacher's hands.
Everything is also available in Tamil script, and individual teachers can start with free prompts.
Our CEO has spoken to school leaders at the K12 Summit in Chennai, and we have written about AI for small businesses in Tamil Nadu after a SICCI dialogue with a state minister.
