The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and its rules (“COPPA”) require us to inform parents and legal guardians about our practices for collecting, using, and disclosing personal information from children under 13, and to obtain verifiable parental consent for certain collection, use, and disclosure of a child's personal information. This section applies only to children under 13 and supplements the rest of our privacy policy, which applies to teens and adults.
Children can access much of the website and learning platform without providing personal information. Some features require registration, for which a child must provide a username, password, and a parent's email address; additional information may be requested but is optional. We also use technologies such as cookies to automatically collect information — including persistent identifiers — when children use the site, and we collect only as much information as is reasonably necessary for participation.
We use a child's personal information to register them with the website and learning platform and to communicate about relevant activities or features. We use automatically collected and non-personal information to improve the website and personalise the experience — for example, estimating audience size and usage patterns, storing content preferences, and speeding up searches.
We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer children's personal information except: to third parties supporting our internal operations under confidentiality obligations; when required by law or legal process; when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of WiselyWise, our customers, or others (including a child's safety and the security of the platform); or to law enforcement for a public-safety investigation. We may also disclose aggregated, non-identifying information.
At any time, you may review your child's personal information, request correction or deletion, or refuse further collection or use, by logging into your child's account or by emailing cxo@wiselywise.com. We may require additional verification before making changes.
